G2E 2025 showcases 400-plus exhibits

Innovation in gaming technology was on full display last week as more than 25,000 attendees filled the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas for the 25th annual Global Gaming Expo. Attendees from more than 120 countries perused more than 400 exhibits on the trade show floor and took in education sessions.

Topics of discussion focused on a variety of industry concerns, including the integration of AI and the ever-changing regulatory landscape relating to both land-based and online gaming.

One theme evident on the trade show floor was the ongoing expansion of online gaming. And while the online segment continues to outpace land-based gaming, onsite physical gaming continues to grow as well, with more and more technologies bridging physical and digital gaming.

Much conversation concerned the growth of prediction markets in sports betting. Prediction markets allow bettors to wager on the outcome of an event. Regulators and some gaming industry executives have questioned the legality of these expanding betting platforms.

Beyond casinos, the gaming industry also continues to grow in the retail and hospitality sectors, driven by the expansion of customer experience technologies (think computer vision, immersive virtual reality or AI-driven, facial recognition) and the growth of legalized gaming.

And while gaming establishments continue to rely heavily on self-service equipment such as redemption machines and sports betting kiosks, innovations in casino offerings conversely create new customer experience opportunities in tandem with self-service offerings for the retail, hospitality, sports, entertainment, transportation and event industries.

Exhibits on the trade show floor once again featured numerous self-service kiosks, including lottery machines, kiosk printers, kiosk lockers and currency management equipment, in addition to gaming redemption kiosks and sports betting kiosks.
